Mediterranean Celtic Dub Connection

Born at the beginning of 2000 from a common vision of music of Nicola Cavina and Silvia Fontani. The two founders of the group start their artistic collaboration in 1993, in Florence, in the celtic group called De Pookan, with this group they recorded a homonym CD produced by Multipromo (Firenze).

The experience with De Pookan has brought out the need for a music language nearer to our time , remaining attached to the sonorities that are ours for tradition and origin.

From this need we started a journey of musical sperimentation in which acoustic and electronic sonorities mingle and combine together influencing one another.

MCDC has been protagonists of important and prestigiuos live events such as: the opening of the Nomadi Tour and Intillimani in Pontassieve stadium; the opening of the Litfiba and Nomadi concert during a students demonstration at the Florentine Palasport; Irish festival at the Tenda Theatre in Florence 1999 and 2000; for the Culture counsillorship of Catania ;for the AGIMUS in Florence; at the Fiesole summer music festival; opening of the cultural review Extemporanea 2001 within Fabbrica Europa Festival.

MCDC has been selected for the Biennial contest for young European and Mediterranean artists, that took place in Sarajevo in July 2001; they’ve received the prize for quality and musical research at the national contest No Cover Contest in Prato; they have qualified has finalists at the national contest Alatri live 2001.

MCDC project is not limited to two persons only but want to be open to different collaborations with other musicians, such as:
